BT Ireland supports small businesses with innovative Avaya offering

BT and Avaya are taking the next step in the evolution of the managed voice market by launching the IP Office platform in Ireland. This innovative offering is aimed at the small & medium enterprise (SME) sector and enables businesses of this size to experience the voice and data communications capabilities larger organisations take for granted – but with the simplicity and ease of use that a growing enterprise considers 'must-haves.'

IP Office unifies business communications, providing employees with a solution that lets them handle all their business communications on the device of their choice: their laptop, mobile phone, office phone or home phone—using wired, wireless or broadband connections. The platform will utilise intelligent routing options in conjunction with broadband to enable cost management of, for example, mobile and international calls. It will also allow businesses to simplify their contact strategy and route calls quickly and accurately within their organisation.

When it comes to delivery and support of the platform Irish customers can rely on the local expertise of BT, which was recently acknowledged by the award of Avaya's Joint Service Delivery (JSD) accreditation. This recognises that BT Ireland infrastructure and processes meet the capability criteria defined by Avaya for the provision and support of their service portfolio. Avaya is the largest supplier of telephony, unified communications and contact centre technology to the corporate, government and multi-national sectors in Ireland.

That local capability is backed up by the global scale of both companies: BT is Avaya's largest partner in both Ireland and Europe, and third largest worldwide. BT is the first partner of Avaya's outside of the US to achieve Platinum status, which reflects both BT's capability and the value of business it delivers in the Irish market. The addition of the JSD 'hallmark' cements BT's position as one of Avaya's key partners in the Irish marketplace.

Tom Byrne, Senior Sales Manager with BT Ireland, commented:

The combination of BT's delivery capability and Avaya's portfolio of offerings has proven to be a winning one in the Irish market. Implementing this technology can be a game-changer for organisations looking to control costs and enable efficient, agile ways of working for their employees. The launch of the IP Office platform puts the significant benefits of the BT / Avaya partnership within the reach of a whole new range of small and medium sized businesses, as they seek to grow and prosper in tough times.

Aidan Furlong, Channel Manager Avaya Ireland added:

At Avaya, our guiding principle is that customers should be supported in migrating to IP telephony at their own pace, following their own path. The combination of the IP Office communications platform and BT's robust project and support capability can enable small and medium sized companies across Ireland to embrace the benefits of the IP Office converged communications offering in a way and manner that best fits their businesses in these challenging times.
