BT Commits to Three Year Deal as Official Communications Partner of Ulster Rugby
August 14th 2012
BT today announced a three year partnership with Ulster Rugby which sees the two organisations team up until the end of the 2014/15 season and establishes BT as the Official Communications Partner of Ulster Rugby.
The announcement of the new three year deal comes as a major boost to Ulster Rugby as they come off the back of a hugely successful 2011/12 season reaching the final of the Heineken Cup.
As Official Communications Partner to Ulster Rugby BT’s logo will now appear on the Ulster Rugby shirt sleeve for all friendlies, Heineken Cup and RaboDirect PRO 12 matches as well as a significant brand presence at Ravenhill, the home of Ulster Rugby.
Peter Russell, Head of Public Sector & Major Accounts for BT in Northern Ireland said: 'On behalf of everyone at BT I am delighted to announce our three year partnership with Ulster Rugby which we hope will bring success both on and off the field for both organisations.
Ulster Rugby has proved itself to be a hugely progressive organisation making significant strides in performance and the development of rugby in Ulster. We hope to play our part in continuing to strive for success and provide the best possible experience for supporters of the game in the province.
We believe that the supporters of Ulster Rugby are among the best in the world and we join them in anticipation of a great season ahead and look forward to standing up for the Ulster men!'
Fiona Hampton, Head of Sales and Marketing, Ulster Rugby, said 'Ulster Rugby are delighted to partner with BT as the synergy in drive, ambition and customer experience is vital to both. BT as official communications services partner of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games can bring a huge amount of experience to the table in terms of sports sponsorship and we feel very proud as an organisation that BT have chosen to sponsor Ulster Rugby and can identify with our ambitions.
Income has increased dramatically over the past year with sponsorship of the Ulster shirt at the forefront of this, and with a steady growth in sponsorship projected over the next two years this provides a healthy platform to ensure we are driving forward to achieve success on and off the pitch for both Ulster Rugby and our partners
BT's new partnership with Ulster Rugby is a significant addition to its sponsorship portfolio which already includes the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition, Derry~Londonderry UK City of Culture 2013, the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and Olympic gymnast Kieran Behan.
