Primal Scream and Daniel Avery ‘Come Together’ for BT Sport
August 14th 2013
BT Sport has signed iconic British rock band Primal Scream and up and coming music producer Daniel Avery to create the theme tune for BT Sport’s new Barclays Premier League and Live event sports programmes.

Primal Scream have re-recorded the song and Avery has applied his distinctive electronic sound to create the box fresh 2013 remix of the classic ‘Come Together’.To mark the launch of BT Sport’s Premier League Show on 17th August, fans will see the iconic band perform the theme tune in the BT Sport studio to open the show at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in East London. They will also close the show with a new track - ‘It’s Alright, It’s Ok’ - from their latest album, ‘More Light’.
Grant Best, BT Sport Senior Channel Executive Producer, said:
We’re already working with some tremendous names at BT Sport so we’re delighted to be working with a unique talent like Daniel Avery and one of the UK’s most iconic bands too. We want our viewers to come together and enjoy sport with BT and this is the perfect track for BT Sport”.
Primal Scream frontman Bobby Gillespie adds:
We’re all big football fans, so to have our music used on BT Sport is great and we’re really excited about playing live from their new studios.”
Sport Promotion specialists Shoot Music have been working closely with BT Sport on the sync and band activity for the channel launch. Shoot Director Tom Roberts said: “Working with BT Sport to bring the opportunity together with one our big campaign acts for 2013 is very exciting and we’re impressed with the channel’s commitment to music in general. The music industry should be excited about the channel’s launch and drive towards working with the music business.”
BT Sport’s first game of the Barclays Premier League season is Liverpool versus Stoke City at Anfield at 12.45pm on August 17. Former Liverpool and Stoke striker Michael Owen will be there in his first Premier League outing as a co-commentator for BT Sport.
BT Sport will show 38 exclusively live football matches from the Barclays Premier League, including 18 of the ‘top picks’ for the next three seasons. The channels will also show live FA Cup with Budweiser matches for the next five seasons, UEFA Europa League, top tier football from Germany, Italy, France, Brazil, Australia and the USA, plus action from the FA Women’s Super League and 30 live matches from the Football Conference.
