BT Ireland expands its data centre business with Cisco Powered Infrastructure as a Service

March 16th 2015

New service offers BT customers enhanced cloud capability.

BT Ireland today announced that it has expanded its portfolio of Cisco Powered™ services with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). With this new service, BT Ireland can provide its customers with a wider range of cloud capabilities to help them increase their business agility.

BT Ireland is already certified as a Master Service Provider by Cisco’s Cloud and Managed Services Program (CMSP), placing it within the top tier of Cisco CMSP partners. To be able to offer IaaS as a Cisco Powered service, BT Ireland needed to complete a rigorous third-party audit of its services. This audit verifies that services are delivered with enterprise-class reliability, security and support.

The Master Service Provider designation recognises BT Ireland’s investment and commitment to providing cloud and managed services at Cisco’s highest standards. The shared goal is to help businesses and organisations realise faster time to value.

BT has a proven worldwide partnership with Cisco”, said Shay Walsh, managing director of Business at BT Ireland. “Now, as a Cisco Powered™ IaaS provider, we are expanding our data centre capabilities to enable us to better address the changing needs of our customers. This expansion, coupled with BTs global network reach and extensive Compute portfolio, demonstrates our investment and commitment to our customers. It provides them with a cloud experience in which they can confidently scale up or down as necessary and ultimately transform their business.”

Cisco supports BT Ireland through enablement programs, incentives and go-to-market benefits. Cisco also offers BT Ireland’s Cisco Powered cloud services through its own sales channels. BT Ireland and Cisco will continue to work together to provide ongoing innovation through these services.
